Foundry Production

Pay: $24.00/hour

The Foundry Production Trainee supports the manufacturing of aluminum cast components by operating molding equipment and assisting with daily production tasks. This role works closely with team members across departments to ensure parts are produced safely, efficiently, and to quality standards. The position is designed as a learning role with opportunities to gain skills and advance within the molding department.

Wage: $24.00/hour + $0.75/hour afternoon shift premium
Shift: 3:15 PM – 11:15 PM
Location: London, Ontario

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate molding machines and observe equipment to ensure proper performance
  • Learn and follow correct steps for mold preparation, including cleaning, spraying, and wiping
  • Perform routine foundry tasks such as mold cleaning, visual inspections, quality checks, part trimming, and packaging according to work instructions
  • Gain hands-on experience with different molds and production processes
  • Support maintenance staff with basic preventative maintenance activities
  • Complete first-piece inspections promptly at the start of production runs
  • Maintain a safe and organized work area, including managing scrap, conveyors, and shake-out areas
  • Track production numbers, scrap levels, and mold usage accurately
  • Meet daily production goals and timelines
  • Participate in team-based improvement initiatives to enhance workflow and quality
  • Complete other duties as required by supervision or management

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to manage a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
  • Willingness to learn company procedures and quality requirements
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort using hand tools
  • Strong teamwork, communication, and cooperation skills
  • Understanding of workplace safety rules and OH&S standards
  • Ability to keep workstations clean and equipment in good condition
  • Demonstrated progress and skill development to support advancement to the next molding level
