At Ontario Plants Propagation Limited, our vision is to be Eastern North America’s premier supplier of greenhouse vegetable transplants. In order to help us accomplish this goal, we need to hire motivated passionate people that will support our workforce and facilities. We are seeking a Shipping Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will ensure seamless processing of administrative documents for outgoing shipments, prepare documents for labelling, loading and unloading of OPPL carts, and other warehouse tasks. The Shipping Administrator understands the impact of this position to other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of outgoing items. This is a 12-month maternity leave contract ending July 2021.

Job Description/Responsibilities
- Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking
- Maintain filing of shipping documents
- Prepare and schedule shipments as assigned
- Create a daily shipment schedule when required
- Schedule daily transportation needs with different carriers/couriers when required
- Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and if multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in the agricultural/Greenhouse industry preferred
- Working experience in shipping administrative roles
- Intermediate skills in Word, Excel and Outlook
Physical Location/Working Conditions
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals
- Overtime as required
- Work is performed in a combination of environments.
- This position may be exposed to elements such as noise, heat, and cold temperatures
- Hours of work to be determined by Shipping Manager
- Will be required to work Saturday’s, Sunday’s, and holidays as needed
- Able to work long hours during peak shipping times
- Must have own reliable transportation
