Student - Assistant Lifeguard/Instructor
Town of Tillsonburg is looking for four (4) responsible Assistant Lifeguard/Instructors to provide instructional assistance for Aquatic Programming provided to all ages, safeguarding of all patrons while swimming and assisting with health and safety requirements and emergency response.

This is a seasonal student position with an option to enroll in OMERS defined benefit pension plan.

Division: Recreation Programs and Services
Reports To: Aquatics Supervisor
Contract: August 31,2026 to September 7, 2027
Hourly Rate: $17.60/hour
Weekly Hours: up to 20
Vacancy: 4 (existing)

Criminal Record Check required for this position. If over eighteen (18) years of age, a Vulnerable Sector Check will be required.

Responsibilities

To provide assistant instruction in the current Tillsonburg Community Centre Aquatic Programs
To endeavor at all times to work as a team with supervisors and fellow staff members
To understand and follow all emergency procedures and sue of emergency equipment
To attend all staff training sessions and staff meetings
To interact with members of the public in a helpful and respectful manner
To be familiar with all swimming programs and provide accurate and current information to the public
Proven track record of reliability, professionalism and good work ethic
Performs other related duties as required and designated by the Aquatics Supervisor

Qualifications

Bronze Cross Certification
Standard First Aid + CPR
Availability to work after school, evenings, and weekends.
Must be returning to school in the fall.
