Job Description

Summary of Duties

Reports to the Manager III, Information Security, and is responsible for ensuring adherence to, and assisting with setting of, the strategic and tactical direction for Information Security through managing the ITS Information Security team. This includes responsibility for City Service Areas, as well as Agencies, Boards, and Commissions supported on the corporate network. Performs management duties as required for other ITS teams.

Qualifications/Experience

University Degree in Computer Science or three year Post Secondary Business Information Systems Diploma, or equivalent.

Specialized Training and Licenses
 
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in Information Security.  Detailed knowledge of Information Security, including Security Information and Event Management, Intrusion Protection Systems, Identity Management, Threat Management, Access Control and Authentication is required.
  • Must have a recognised Security specific certification (CISSP is preferred), and be willing to participate in ongoing relevant education and certification as required.
  • Successful experience supervising others.  Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills in order to direct, develop, motivate, and support employees.
  • Additional Information Technology and Project Management focused certifications are an asset; examples include, but are not limited to: PMP - Project Management Professional, ITIL Foundations.

Compensation Range

$87,602 to $118,941
