The Research Coordinator I collaborates with Investigators, research team members, industry sponsors and care partners to support the execution of several projects and clinical trials. Research projects include pharmaceutical-sponsored investigator-initiated trials. This position will provide an excellent opportunity for a dynamic individual with strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, organizational skills and a commitment to advancing equity in research participation. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, lead recruitment of study participants (e.g. identify and screen potential subjects), execute clinical trials, process and ship lab samples, coordination of patient visits as per study protocol, maintaining essential documentation, ethics submissions, data entry, and financial reporting. This role requires the individual to work successfully within a team and independently. This individual must be able to work within LHSCRI Standard Operating Procedures and comply with ICH/GCP.
Temporary Full-Time
Rate of Pay: $34.40 - $43.00 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week
Duration: 1 year (possibility for renewal)
Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
Research projects:
- Participant screening, recruitment/consent, organization of study visits
- Data collection, data management and organizing study meetings.
- Liaison with project stake holders including pharmacy, nursing staff, and team members
Administrative and Research Support:
-Prepare submissions for REB and institutional applications
- Write relevant materials for new research projects (summaries, letters of information, etc)
- Help track study approvals and ensure documents are up to date
Qualifications
-
Successful completion of a Bachelor's Degree in a health regulated profession
-
Successful completion of Master's Degree in Health Sciences, or related field, is considered an asset
-
Diploma or Certificate in Clinical Trials Management, and/or Designation in SOCRA, ACRP is an asset

Knowledge of peer-review granting systems, processes and procedures.

Experience with ethics submissions and working with Western REB, CRIC & LORA

Certification of GCP, TCPS2, HC Division 5 Training, TDA/IATA,

Familiar with Health Canada and Food & Drug regulations and knowledge of ICH guidelines

Ability to manage numerous clinical trials simultaneously

Highly organized and able to prioritize completing tasks

Proficient computer skills including word processing, database experience, medline searching, biostatistical programs, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Powerchart, eCRF data entry

Team oriented, self-aware and flexible to changing work priorities

Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written) with a high level of initiative and motivation

Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
