Job Description

Working under the general direction of the Secretary Treasurer, the Governance Coordinator is responsible for providing support in governance and administrative functions including coordinating Annual General Meetings (Synod) and other Diocesan meetings. Responsibilities include providing logistical support through communications, project support, and implementation to ensure the work is carried out efficiently and effectively.

The position is also responsible providing administrative and logistical support for working committees, including taking minutes and tracking projects. In addition, the position provides administrative support to the Secretary Treasurer.

Qualifications Required:
I. EDUCATION:
College or University graduation or equivalent combination of education and experience.
II. EXPERIENCE:
Several years’ familiarity with governance committee work and experience as recording secretary, or equivalent.
III. SKILLS:
Strong written communication skills vital; precision of thought and attention to detail; the ability to apply principles to factual situations; a sense of process; ability to serve the needs of multiple stakeholders while preserving and guarding the intent/integrity of policy and principles with neutrality and objectivity. Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge Database software is an asset.
