Your Role and Responsibilities

Job Purpose:
The Director of Quality is responsible for supervision and coordination of the activities of employees engaged in the Quality Department at Marwood.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist operations at Marwood to improvement of quality and eliminate defects, maintaining healthy score card from customers
  • Direction to all Quality department employees.
  • Ensure that all employees are able to understand and demonstrate all job competencies as indicated in the employee job description.
  • Assist Senior Management Team on projects as required.
  • Ensure New Employees Orientation Program within department.
  • Ensure all Legal Employment Due Diligence Compliance requirements are met.
  • Conduct and/or lead Quality System Audits in compliance with the requirements of ISO 10011, specifically; Internal Quality Audits of all Policies, Procedures, Work Instructions, etc. as outlined in Marwood Quality Manuals.
  • Provide direction for technicians, technologists, analysts, engineers, off-site quality consultant/contractors and administrative staff.
  • Ensure employee evaluations and performance appraisals are completed
  • Coordinate quality initiatives with engineering, tool room maintenance and production.
  • Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Devise sampling procedures and designs and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Establish programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
  • Develop and implement methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devise methods to assess cost and responsibility.
  • Direct workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
  • Compile and write training material and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.
  • Facilitate APQP activities and reports to Senior management.
  • Advise HR on employee performance issues and labour utilization requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality and advise Senior management on all important issues.

Key Requirements:
  • Grade 12, GED, or equivalent
  • University or College Graduate /Quality Program or equivalent
  • Successful completion of recognized Internal Quality Auditing Program
  • Computer/administration efficiency skills in all required areas
  • Ten (10) years plus Quality Management experience
  • Quality Audit and Testing Program completion
  • Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) development and documentation completion
  • Gauge and Fixture Control Program completion
