As part of the Enterprise Tax practice, the Specialist will excel in servicing the planning and compliance needs of our clients. This position provides the opportunity to participate in a broad range of tax-related work requiring qualitative and quantitative analysis and assessment. Periodic special projects and research will challenge you and allow you to grow, develop, and thrive as a tax professional.
What you will do
- Research and analyze a wide range of tax issues, including support with structuring domestic and international investments
- Prepare and review corporate, partnership, trust, and personal tax returns across a variety of engagements
- Draft technical memos, instruction letters to legal counsel, and client reporting letters for review by senior team members
- Build and maintain income tax models to support planning and compliance work
- Review tax provisions for larger audit and non-audit clients
- Collaborate with clients and team members to gather information and support tax initiatives
- Support senior staff with the execution of corporate tax planning and compliance initiatives
- Contribute to special projects and tax research that support client needs and professional development
What you bring to the role
- Minimum of two years of experience in a public accounting firm
- CPA designation completed or in progress
- Completed Bachelor Degree in accounting, business or finance
- Experience with both private and public company tax provision and compliance experience
- Experience in restructuring and/or reorganization tax planning
- Fluency in English is required
- Strong written and verbal communication skills applied in professional client and team settings
- Experience managing multiple priorities and clients while meeting deadlines in a client-service environment
- Ability to research tax issues and apply findings to planning, compliance, and advisory work
- Strong client service skills, with the ability to understand client businesses and maintain effective working relationships
KPMG Ontario Region Pay Range Information
The expected base salary range for this position is $67,509 to $95,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications.
