Role Overview:

Reporting to the EH&S manager, as a Sr. EHS Technologist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

Developing and leading site-specific Industrial Hygiene (IH) activities and initiatives on such topics as hearing conservation, respiratory protection, personal protective equipment, exposure assessment andchemical management including: Designated Substance and Engineered Nanoparticles

Assessing new and changing processes and equipment for ergonomic considerations andidentifying, planning and leading projects and actions to minimize the risk of incidents

Leading industrial hygiene and ergonomic related incident investigations, impacting employeehealth and well-being, to determine causal factors and identify appropriate corrective actions inorder to reduce risk and minimize recurrence

Creating and maintaining site training content and programs while contributing to departmentaloperating procedures and training in the areas of IH and Ergonomics

Leading multiple aspects of the Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomic program and developingstandard work to continually improve performance

Frequently identifying and addressing IH and ergonomic concerns in Manufacturing, R&D, and officemanagement of change

Actively supporting EHS Cultural Excellence through personal responsibility for safety, health, andenvironment, promoting a culture to address incidents, near-misses and potential hazards

Partnering with Engineering, IH, Medical, Ergonomic, R&D, Managementand site Joint Health and Safety Committee contacts to promptly address related issues on relevantprograms and projects

Monitoring regulatory trends and activities related to IH and Ergonomics that could have an impacton our site operations

 

Qualifications:

Degree in environmental Health & Safety or related field

Experience or knowledge of Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics

Knowledge and understanding of industry legislation (OHSA,CSA Standards, Enviro Regulators)

Familiarity working with all levels of the organization and with Government agencies (MOL, MOE)

Experience working within a unionized environment is an asset

A focus on driving continuous improvement activities
