UH Audiology
The Program Assistant is responsible for daily organization of the Audiology unit by acting as the communication link and program support. They assist with reception and patient registration, scheduling patient appointments, diagnostic tests, lab and patient care orderables, as well as support the Cochlear Implant clinical team.
Regular Part-Time
Rate of Pay: $29.01 - $36.25 per hour
Hours of Work: 22.5 hours per week
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a 2 (two) year diploma in Medical Office administration or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience as determined by the Hospital
- Minimum one year of recent, related experience
- Demonstrated proficient computer software skills - conversant with LHSC software, office tools, patient registrations, scheduling program, etc.
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of medical terminology
- Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated understanding of OHIP principles to process patient referrals
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload in a setting of multiple and competing priorities
- Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail
- Demonstrated advanced ability to effectively communicate professionally (both verbal and written) with all staff, patients, and their families
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and be empathetic and sensitive to patient needs
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Vision, Purpose, and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
