Industrial Mechanic Millwright/Maintenance Technician – 433A
 
Join our team! We are currently seeking an experienced Industrial Mechanic Millwright/Maintenance Technician at Canada Tubeform, a London, Ontario Automotive Tier 2 manufacturing facility. We are a progressive, growing Canadian based manufacturing business focused on the production of high-volume tubular steel components and assemblies for the automotive industry and has been in business since 2001 as a privately-owned company.

Job Description:
In this position you will primarily support the business with Industrial Mechanic Millwright skills by performing maintenance and repair on manufacturing equipment and tooling to support efficient operations in a Maintenance Department in collaboration with the Engineering team members.

The successful candidate must be able to work 2 rotating shifts – Days 5 – 8’s (Monday to Friday) and Afternoons 4 - 10’s (Monday to Thursday), work flexible hours and overtime as required with a reasonable work-life balance. 


Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for performing equipment and tooling maintenance to ensure production targets and requirements are met.  This includes both un-planned and planned maintenance activities. Radio call system in place.
  • Work with various technology such as robotics, vision and PLC
  • Ensures that production equipment / tooling is maintained to produce product to the required quality specifications.
  • Completion of PMs on all equipment, including electrical and/or mechanical repairs within area of responsibility
  •  Support in root cause and prevention of future downtime events – A3, record documentation for data analysis, etc.
  • In-house rebuilds of hydraulic cylinders or other equipment as needed.
  • Communicates all maintenance and quality related requirements to the appropriate Canada Tubeform departments and personnel.
  • Effective communication for shift crossovers, work order feedback, production meetings, and activity coordination between other shift members
  • Communicates all maintenance related issues to Supervisor in a timely manner and performs other related duties on special projects as required.
  • Keep electronic detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
  • Contributes to a continuous improvement philosophy on plant wide systems.
  • Responsible for maintaining and tracking plant wide maintenance tools.
  • Responsible for safe work environment and safe practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:
  • Ontario trades Certificate of Qualification or a registered advanced apprenticeship contract in one of the following trades: Industrial Mechanic Millwright, supplemented by courses/ work in hydraulics, electrical, maintenance, PLC control, and quality assurance or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of Millwright experience, preferably in the automotive manufacturing industry.
  • Advanced training/understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC’s and robotics is a preferred asset
  • Understand and interpret schematic drawings and symbols as well as manufacturers manuals and specifications and logic diagrams for pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic systems
  • Above average troubleshooting skills of advanced technology equipment and ability to resolve issues in a diverse, fast paced environment. 
  • Excellent communication, leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • A strong hands-on mechanical aptitude with extensive knowledge of basic machining and tubular forming technologies.
  • Computer literacy and a familiarity with quality assurance systems are essential elements of the position.
  • High energy and a well-developed sense of urgency are essential requirements of the position.
