Job Description

 

On behalf of our client, Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for an Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk to join their team in the London region.  Our client offers a challenging and rewarding career, in a modern, diverse and team focused culture.  They are seeking talented, motivated, innovative, and flexible individuals.

 

Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager, the Accounts Payable/Receivable Clerk will be responsible for all of the accounts payable and receivable functions.  The following duties outline, but do not limit, the regular position requirements:

 

  • Receive supplier invoices for payment processing.
  • Distribute supplier invoices to department managers for approval and coding.
  • Check invoice charges with agreed rate schedules, quotes or contracts.
  • Solve all rate discrepancies with suppliers.
  • Reconcile rate differences and quantity discrepancies.
  • Enter processed invoices in the accounting system for payment.
  • Attach entered invoices with the printed cheques for signature.
  • Prepare signed cheques with remittance copies for mailing.
  • Maintain supplier files of paid and unpaid invoices.
  • Create customer invoices for review by management.
  • Issue all customer invoices.
  • Keep track of accounts receivable for timely payment.
  • Follow up with customers for any overdue accounts.
  • Maintain customer files of paid and unpaid invoices.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • University degree or College diploma (Accounting related);
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or distribution environment, with Canadian and US transactions;
  • Proficient with various computer programs including; Microsoft Word, Excel (advanced) and Outlook, and Internet applications;
  • Working knowledge of accounting software;
  • Excellent organizational, time management, analytical, problem-solving and follow-up skills;
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written;
  • Flexibility to work overtime as required;
  • Must be hands-on, detail oriented and able to consistently meet deadlines as well as have a continuous improvement orientation.
  • MInimum 2 years experience working with Quickbooks.

 

$14.50 - $16 per hour based on experience.
