Are you looking to join a growing and stable team in an exciting 12 month contract, full time hour’s opportunity? Our client in the London area has partnered with Randstad Engineering in their search for a Bilingual Editor to join their team!
In this role, responsibilities would include:
• Perform English editing on Technical Manuals and Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM) according to applicable Program requirements
• Perform translation on TMs/IETMs according to applicable Program requirements
• Check TMs/IETMs for readability, consistency in terminology and Program style
• Check for accuracy of references, cross-references and additional material/annexes/indices in TMs/IETMs
• Create and maintain stat logs
• Maintain checklists and style guides
• Liaise with Technical Publications points of contact
• Perform aggregates on TMs/IETMs to verify layout and format against customer specifications
• Perform translation editing on TMs/IETMs according to applicable Program requirements
• Perform secondary language data entry and second checks
• Assist with customer comment response, implementation and checks
• Assist with interdepartmental editing and/or translation requests
As a qualified candidate, you meet the following requirements:
• University Degree in English, French or translation (Honours or higher preferred)
• Bilingual (English/French)
• Minimum 1-2 years English editing and translation experience
• Knowledge and experience developing and using editing checklists and style guides
• Content Management System (CMS) experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated skill in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to travel (5% CDN) and (5% US & International) and possess/be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport
• English editing certification by an accredited organization would be considered an asset
