HR Manager

St. Leonard's Community Services, London & Region (SLCS) is a community agency dedicated to supporting, advocating, and empowering individuals who are, or who are at risk of being justice-involved. We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join our leadership team in the role of Human Resources Manager to lead the management of HR Activities and Scheduling for all SLCS programs.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Human Resources Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight of all human resources functions across SLCS. This role is accountable for the effective delivery of HR services including employee and labour relations, scheduling and attendance management, performance management, compensation and benefits, training and development, health and safety, HRIS administration including payroll, and employment-related legislative compliance.

As a key member of the leadership team, the HR Manager collaborates with leaders to develop, implement, and evaluate HR strategies, workforce plans, and people-focused initiatives that align with organizational priorities and support service excellence. The role provides expert guidance and coaching on employee relations matters, performance management, disability management, and workplace accommodations, while fostering a positive, inclusive, and compliant work environment.

This role leads the development and implementation of HR policies, programs, and systems to ensure compliance with applicable legislation (e.g. ESA, OHSA, Human Rights, AODA, PIPEDA, etc.) and alignment with accreditation standards and best practices. The position also oversees organizational scheduling and workforce planning processes, using data-driven insights to optimize staffing, improve operational effectiveness, and support decision-making.

In addition, the HR Manager champions employee wellness, equity, diversity, and inclusion initiatives, and oversees the health and safety of employees, clients, and visitors. The role works collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to remain informed of labour market trends, emerging HR practices, and sector-specific needs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education from an accredited institution in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • CHRP/CHRL designation an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working in a Human Resources capacity.
  • Minimum of 2 years scheduling in an HRIS system.
  • Valid G Class Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Candidates who are proficient in both official languages of Canada is an asset
