We are currently recruiting Relief staff available to work shifts among all five (5) London Developmental Services programs.

The successful candidates will be responsible for all aspects of providing supports, within residential settings, to individuals with complex needs and behavioural challenges. Successful candidates will be available available 5 shifts/month – working 1 shift/month at each program where shifts are available. Shifts will be variable in nature, including days, evenings, weekends, awake night and asleep night shifts.  The candidate must be available to work overnight shifts.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated understanding of support requirements specific to individuals with developmental, physical, and behavioural challenges
• Able to establish therapeutic relationships on the basis of respect and trust
• Experience supporting individuals with mental health issues, including suicidal ideation
• Support individuals with daily living while pursuing leisure and recreational opportunities
• Ability to write clear, concise observations of behavior
• Advocate on behalf of individuals to achieve goals
• Proven computer skills, MS Office preferred
• Ability to use sound judgment and make independent decisions based on Policies & Procedures
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills; attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to work well as part of the team
• Demonstrated ability to work in partnership with families
• A valid Ontario (G) Driver’s Licence, current Police Records Check & Vulnerable Position Screening, First Aid Certificate, CPI Certificate
• Post Secondary in a related field or equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in residential services, supporting individuals with complex and high behavioural needs.

Starting Wage:           $19.86 per hour plus 4% vacation pay
