As a valued member of the interdisciplinary team the Speech Language Pathologist provides assessment and rehabilitation services, to individuals within Finch Family Mental Health Care and Southwest Centre for Forensic Mental Health Care, with speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders. Responsibilities include consultation and education to patients, families, students, and team members. The successful candidate will work with adult and geriatric populations to provide care that will assist and support them, meeting their evident and anticipated needs, to promote health and to enhance well-being and quality of life.


Essential Qualifications

  • Valid registration with the College of Audiologists & Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario
  • Experience with clinical and videofluoroscopic assessment of swallowing.
  • Experience working with individual with chronic and persistent mental health
  • Knowledge of a Safety Culture in a Health Care Setting in compliance with the OHSA
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative manner with an interdisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong teaching and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in French would be an asset
  • Previous experience with geriatric communication and swallowing disorders
  • Eligibility for membership in CASLPA and/or OSLA

  • St. Joseph's Health Care London through its affiliation with Western University and Fanshawe College is a leading research and teaching hospital. Immunization Requirements
  • Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps rubella, varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, COVID-19 and influenza.
  • Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing
