Job Description

Craigwood Children, Youth & Family Services is a fully accredited, not-for-profit children’s mental health centre providing a variety of programs with locations in London & Ailsa Craig.  Qualified applicants are invited to apply for the following position:

Manager of Facilities

As a member of the management team, reporting to the Executive Director, the Manager of Facilities is responsible for the maintenance of property for all Craigwood locations.  The incumbent will directly perform or supervise the completion of all work in the maintenance areas as well as supervision of maintenance staff members.  The supervisor will also serve as a consultant in the identification of key issues affecting property within the agency.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Plan and manage year-round preventative maintenance and upkeep of all Craigwood buildings, grounds and properties
  • Upkeep of all systems including:  electrical, mechanical & plumbing
  • Contract with and oversee the work of outside contractors
  • Project Management with the capacity to achieve maintenance objectives on-time and on-budget
  • Purchasing of equipment & supplies related to functions of the position
  • Submit facility minor and major capital need proposals and completion of all documentation in accordance with regulations
  • Mentors and acts as a Lead Hand in supervision of staff, direction of work, ongoing consultation and support for maintenance and cleaning staff
  • Administration of the Collective Agreement in consultation with Human Resources
  • Responsible for a high standard of the physical condition of the facilities ensuring strict compliance with Ministry licensing standards; Health & Safety; Infection Prevention and Control; building regulations and agency standards.

Qualifications include:
  • Knowledge of building maintenance systems preferably with a trade certification or post-secondary education
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a facility supervisor or Manager
  • Ability to project manage, prioritize workload and manage expectations, including fulfilling on-call responsibilities and responding to emergency situations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management, problem solving / resolution skills
  • Works well under pressure and has the ability to pivot quickly based on priorities and emerging needs
  • Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle
