MPI Solutions Inc. is a systems integrator and machine builder with a main office located in London, Ontario.  Our primary focus is PC based programming solutions, supporting customers locally with a variety of different technologies. We have a large client base located in Ontario but our service offerings do extend across all of Canada.

About the Role: 

The ideal candidate will provide the critical link between sales and project execution, ensuring seamless team communication and alignment. They will lead and support a technical team on various projects, demonstrating strong leadership and technical expertise. A minimum of five years of experience in the automation and/or manufacturing industry is required. The candidate must possess a strong skill set in design and programming, along with a solid understanding of automation projects. Additionally, they should be able to multitask and manage resources effectively to meet project goals and deadlines. 

Responsibilities: 

The successful candidate will learn and take accountability and ownership for all aspects of the Automation Team Leader: 

  • Provide technical assistance in the development and execution of automation and control solutions. 

  • Project Management - Liaise with customers during the varying cycles of a project, including budgeting, scheduling 

  • Electrical Design - Provide design support using Solidworks Electrical 2D 

  • Mechanical Design - Provide support using 3D mechanical design software. 

  • Programming: Provide programming services including PC, PLC, HMI, robotics and vision. 

  • Application of custom programming 

  • On-site installation support 

  • On-site commissioning, testing, start-up and training support. 

Skills Required: 

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years related experience.  

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical or mechatronics engineering. 

  • Electrician license, considered an asset. 

  • Systems integration experience is preferred over manufacturing experience. 

  • Project management experience including resource scheduling, budgeting, and customer relations. 

  • Must have a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude. 

  • Organized and methodical thinker. 

  • Absolutely must be a self-starter, motivated and can work independently. 

  • Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software products. 

  • Must be available to work weekdays and/or weekends occasionally. 

  • Must have a valid G license. 

  • Must be located in London, ON or the surrounding area or willing to relocate to be near the office. 

  • Hands-on experience would be considered an asset. 

  • Must be willing to travel to customer sites as required for commissioning and startup support. 

  • Industrial drafting experience using the following platforms:AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical and Solidworks Electrical 2D 

  • Proficient with the following industrial programming languages: Ladder and STL 

  • The following languages will be considered an asset: C#, HTML5, JavaScript and Python 

  • Skills in the following areas will be considered an asset: Relational and object-oriented databases and SQL scripting
