Employment Sector Council London-Middlesex (ESCLM) is a collaborative network of employment-related organizations in the London-Middlesex region. ESCLM coordinates employment sector planning across its membership, and promotes community labour force growth and development
 
ESCLM is a community partnership project of WIL Employment Connections (WIL), a non-profit community-based organization with over 30 years of experience providing specialized employment supports for immigrants and newcomers in London Region. Together, ESCLM and WIL are inviting applications for a Project Assistant who will provide support to ESCLM, its Steering Committee, members and volunteers.
 
POSITION: ESCLM Research Project Assistant
Part-time (21 hours/week)
20 week contract
$16 per hour
 
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY: 
The successful candidate will report to the ESCLM Project Manager and Steering Committee, as well as to the Project Sponsor, WIL Employment Connections.  This position is responsible for assisting with the day-today operations and outcomes of an ESCLM Labour Market Partnership Project, as determined by the identified strategic directions of the organization.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Efficient and effective support for ESCLM project activities and committees
  • Liaise with ESCLM member agencies and community partners
  • Prepare and distribute ESCLM e-newsletter
  • Maintain website and social media presence
  • Coordination of ESCLM training courses, including participant registration, course materials preparation, etc.
  • Maintenance of ESCLM records and reporting on ESCLM project deliverables and outcomes
  • Assist with ESCLM information-sharing, marketing and communication materials
  • Manage multiple tasks, under tight deadlines 
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Competencies and Requirements:
  • Well-developed organization, time management and planning skills
  • Previous project administrative experience considered an asset
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of local employment agencies and services
  • Knowledge of local labour market conditions and current economic trends
  • Approachable and collaborative style that supports trust and integrity
  • Demonstrated experience in (and an understanding of) the employment and social services sectors, particularly in areas of community awareness and community economic development
  • Able to work independently and take initiative
