Job Description
We are currently looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist. The successful candidate will be a proactive communicator with ability to successfully juggle multiple tasks. This position is ideal for someone who is extremely organized and works well with timelines. This is a full time position reporting to Human Resources Manager.
Responsibilities
Coordinate recruitment process for hourly and salaried positions (job postings, screening resumes, scheduling and participating in interviews)
Conduct new employee orientation and assist with training initiatives
Respond to employees queries about HR policies and personnel matters
Coordinate timely WSIB claims and return to work program
Coordinate attendance management program
Coordinate employee recognition program and company events
Assist with administration of group benefits and company RRSP plan
Assist with policy development and HR documentation
Update and create job descriptions
Maintain up to date employee records
Other projects assigned by Human Resources manager
Skills/Qualifications
At least two years in a similar role, preferably in manufacturing environment
Post-secondary education in HR field or equivalent experience will be considered
Working knowledge of human resources principles and related legislation (ESA, OHSA, AODA, Human Rights)
Friendly, approachable with ability to gain employees’ confidence
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to coach employees through difficult situations and resolve issues
Solid ethics, confidentiality and positive attitude
Analytical problem solving skills and attention to details
Exceptional organizational and planning skills and ability to handle multiple requests on a short notice
Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with ability to quickly learn new software
Able to work with minimal supervision
Experience with Ceridian software an asset
Project management an asset
