Job Description

The London InterCommunity Health Centre is looking for a registered clinical psychologist to join our Mental Health Care team consisting of Social Workers, Psychiatrist, Psychologist and Systems Navigators.

The role of the psychologist is to provide clinical services, to include assessment, psychometric measurement, treatment plans and especially trauma care psychotherapy (as per the APA guidelines on evidence-based outcomes). The incumbent of this position should be familiar as well with other evidence-based interventions for ancillary mood, thinking and personality difficulties. The environmental milieu facing clients of the InterCommunity Health Centre includes poverty and adaptation challenges in accessing social and health services in the City of London. The typical client profile includes immigrants, refugees and homeless people, who may have serious mental health and addiction issues.  

This position is available part-time, full-time or involving fee-for-service with the unique benefits of a salaried model and no overhead costs or OHIP billing expenses.

Qualifications and experience: We prefer a Ph.D. from a recognized and accredited learning institution and current registration with a provincial College of Psychologists. This person would possess demonstrated experience with cognitive-behavioral psychological interventions, evaluations which include testing and interpretation as well as consultation with an interdisciplinary team for complex clients.  We will consider an accredited Masters in Clinical Psychology (e.g. Psychology Associate) with a minimum of 3 year’s recent, related experience in psychological treatment of mental disorders including experience in trauma care psychotherapy. We prefer a candidate with an authorized populations, including family, and adults.

To promote time to recharge, our normal work week is 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, evening flexibility may be required. Paid sick and emergency days are available to all staff for self and family care.
