Position: Child Care Dietary Planner


Licensed Child Care, Zorra YMCA location

Start Date: April 15th 2024

Compensation: Starting rates are dependent on region, qualifications, and contract.

• Up to $19.00 per hour (includes government wage enhancements)

Schedule:

• 7.5 hour workday, Monday through Friday (no weekends)
• 37.5 hour work week

In this role, you will:
• Primarily preparing nutritious snacks and meals for the childcare facility and provide snack support to local YMCA School Age Programs
• Responsible for ordering and purchasing food for programs while maintaining budget requirements
• Strong knowledge of the Canada Food Guide, to plan meals and meet the individual needs of each child’s diet due to health or religious restrictions
• Participate in consultation, problem solving and sharing of resources with Director, centre team and other department dietary planners
• Ensure supervision and safety of children at all times; Understand and comply with provincial (CCEYA), municipal and YMCA policies and procedures
• Understand and comply with provincial (CCEYA), municipal and YMCA policies and procedures and public health regulations
• Be committed to diversity, equity, inclusion and building a sense of belonging

Education & Skills Qualifications:

• Hold a Valid Food Handler’s Certification recognized by public health is required
• Valid Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification or include the date of training scheduled within the next three months. Training cost and time is at the expense of the applicant and not reimbursed
• Applicants are required to be a minimum of 18 years of age or older to obtain a current Vulnerable Criminal Reference Check (less than 6 months old)
• Up-to-date immunizations required by Public Health, Ministry of Education and YMCASWO
• Ability to use frequent light to medium physical effort: lifting to 20 kg (44 lbs.), bending, and stooping
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
