Traffic Coordinator

 Location:

Cambridge, Ontario

Shift:

Rotating

Transfreight is a North American-based, premier third-party logistics provider (3PL) that uses its lean logistics expertise, robust technologies, and kaizen culture to engineer customized solutions for its customers.  We currently have a Traffic Coordinator Contract opening available at our Cambridge, Ontario facility.

 

The Traffic Coordinator position’s primary responsibilities include:

*Monitoring the transport of customers' freight in compliance with route design and prevailing regulations
*Ensuring the  customer is aware of freight status and potential impact on production
*Alerting the customer to delays in freight transit and determining potential contingency options
*Ensuring applicable route, freight and customer information is up to date in Transfreight’s transportation management systems
*Overseeing  and auditing  Transfreight’s yard management system

*Providing customer KPI data
*Responding to customer queries and ad-hoc requests regarding freight location and status
*Notifying the customer of delays in freight arrival and contingency options

Required Skills, Competencies and Education

*Two-year degree, college diploma or equivalent experience in logistics or transportation fields, preferred

*Ability to use MS Office Applications

*Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills

*Ability to collaborate with co-workers in a manner that supports Transfreight’s values and professional code of conduct

*Ability to organize tasks in a manner that takes into consideration the urgency and importance of business objectives.
