Purpose

The Controller is responsible for the financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.

Job Summary

Manage the accuracy and productivity of day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer credits and collections, payroll, perpetual inventory integrity, fixed asset records, general & entity accounting, cost accounting, Human Resources, and Operations etc.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Submit monthly financial statements to owner/ shareholders of all companies.

• Complete year-end statements and submit all related paperwork to external auditors for all five (5) related companies.

• Complete monthly, quarterly, and yearly government remittances, including but not limited to, WSIB, CSST, Payroll Sources Deductions, GST/HST/QST, EHT, T4s, T4a, RL1s and all related reconciliation sheets. 

• Set up new assets & liabilities on financials.

• Compile monthly report for banks as required.

• Oversee accounting functions, including, but not limited to, accounts payable & accounts receivable, payroll.

• Weekly report of installation, outstanding collection report, company scorecard and all other required information for weekly EOS meeting.

• Monitors and confirms financial condition by conducting audits; providing information to external auditors.

• Develop and implement policies and procedures as required to ensure that personnel and financial information is secure.

• Protects operations by keeping financial information and plans confidential.

• Develop the company’s inventory management system to ensure stock accuracy and maximizing available working capital.

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
