Select Elevator Solutions Inc. is a Canadian leader in providing maintenance, service and installation services for wind turbine service lifts, climb assists and other lifting devices within wind turbines across Canada. Select Elevator is recruiting for experienced service technicians to join our team and help us to continue to provide comprehensive solutions within our specialized field in the wind industry. Ideal candidates will have 2+ years experience working in a related field, possess mechanical and electrical aptitude and be detailed oriented.   

Responsibilities:

• Perform maintenance, service and installation of wind turbine service lifts, climb assists and other lifting devices within wind turbines

• Work in a team environment 8-12 hours per day

• Work at heights in excess of 400

• Accurately complete all documentation as needed for each task performed

Qualifications:

• Preference will be given to candidates with 2+ years of related work experience

• Have a High school diploma or equivalent as well as mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical work background

• Valid driver license with clean driving record

• Have a safety-focused mindset

• Ability to identify, assess and resolve problems independently

• Ability to work in remote locations across Canada for extended periods of time, sometimes with short notice

• Flexibility to work a varying schedule including overtime, early morning, evening, weekends and holidays 

• Ability to stand, bend, kneel and climb for prolonged periods of time

• Lift up to 50lbs unassisted

• Ability to operate power and hand tools confidently and safely

• Capable of working in adverse and extreme weather conditions

• Fall Protection/Working from Heights Certificate (Preference given for GWO-WAH)

• Standard First Aid Certificate

• Fire awareness and material handling Certificate

• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

• Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize

• Ability to work in extreme weather conditions

• Ability Climb Wind Turbines (up to 400 feet)

• Ability to work unsupervised

• Ability to use smartphone or electronic device and download company required mobile applications
