Job Description
Brescia University College (www.brescia.uwo.ca), a Catholic university college affiliated with Western University, is Canada’s only women’s university providing instruction to over 1,500 women students. Brescia is seeking an experienced and energetic individual to fill several positions as:
DISHWASHER / PORTER & FOOD SERVICES ASSISTANTS
Contract positions – Full-time and Part-time- $14.67 per hour
September 2020 – April 2021
Receiving direction from the Executive Sous Chef, Hospitality Coordinator, FSA Supervisors, Chef de Parties and Food Services Manager, primary responsibilities of the dishwasher/porter role will be maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen area. Specific duties include: operating dishwasher; rack, unrack and stack soiled dishes and utensils; cleaning utensils, dishes, trays, pots, etc; keeping work area and floors clean, including refrigerators and other equipment; and receive and store deliveries as required. Food Services Assistants primary responsibilites will include the assembly, preparation and serving of food and beverage products and maintaining the cleanliness of the dining room.
Required skills include: knowledge of food services normally gained through experience in the food service industry; excellent customer service skills; attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; ability to follow oral and written direction; knowledge of First Aid, CPR, WHMIS and the Occupational Health & Safety Act. Work may involve some heavy lifting and repetitive movements. A willingness to work flexible hours including some weekends and evenings will alos be necessary.
