Job Description
A qualified Assembly Operator Level II – Intermediate will be able to follow and maintain assembly drawings and Narratives to correctly assemble and test a wide variety of hydraulic components and sub-assemblies in a work cell environment with a group of operators or independently. The Assembly operator will be able to operate all equipment and tools required with minimal supervision and train other employees as required.
Principal Accountabilities:
• Apply and maintain all skills from Level l
• Create and Maintain work instructions and Narratives
• Prepares work by following production boards and apps
• Apply your skills to maintain the correct operating sequence and workflow of the assembly department
• Understand the design and use of special assembly tools and equipment
• Fill out all required documents for NCP's and take to assigned disposition areas
• Demonstrate flexibility when asked to perform other tasks on other equipment
• Interact with others to solve problems in production, discuss processes
• Cross–train successfully on all stations in Assembly Production in the work cell to become efficient throughout the entire process
• Perform minor equipment adjustments as required
• Inspect equipment on an ongoing basis
• Work well with minimal supervision
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
Health and Safety Responsibilities:
• All required PPE while in the plant.
• Work safe & ergonomically by following JH&S policies.
• Report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents across the plant.
• Report accidents, near misses, injuries, or illnesses immediately to your supervisor.
• Inspect equipment and the workplace regularly.
• Be alert for hazards.
• Cooperate with others on matters relating to occupational safety and health.
Knowledge, Skills and Education:
• Completion of secondary school or equivalent or 1-3 years in Manufacturing.
• Minimum 2 years of previous work in the role.
• Completely competent at level I Assembly Operator knowledge and skills.
• Ability to use various Mechanical Inspection Tools (e.g. Tape Measure, Calipers, Micrometers Depth Gage and Bore Gage), Power Tools
• Good Written and Oral communication, Problem-solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Significant use of memory;
• Ability to find information and continuous learning.
• High level of detail accuracy, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination;
• Proficient at Reading text, Document use, Numeracy;
• Ability to work as a team/independent;
• Ability to work in a safe and orderly manner.
• Ability to effectively communicate in both oral and written.
