Job Title:                     Industrial Electrician

Reports to:                  Maintenance Area Leader                                  Supervises:     0 employees

General Description 

Responsible for the repair, adjustment, preventative maintenance, and installation of various office / plant fixtures and types of production equipment.

Core Job Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoots, carries out preventative maintenance as scheduled / required on all plant and facility equipment including various types of presses, CNC, lathes, flow forming, overhead cranes to minimize downtime and ensure a smooth flow of operations through optimal performance of equipment
  • Conducts all work in accordance with handbook / trade / training standards, and responsibilities defined in job documents (job descriptions, operator instructions, etc.)
  • Participates in team activities and perform duties safely in manner that reflects sense of “urgency” with respect to meeting deadlines and goals
  • Maintains tracking data for all plant equipment including, but not limited to CNC lathes, WF, presses, washers
  • Completes work assignments with accuracy, sense of urgency, and in a safe manner in accordance with established standards, and all applicable Regulations / Legislation
  • Conducts all work activities in a manner that is supportive of team effort
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Manager, or his/her designate.

Other Responsibilities

  • Participate in company programs including G&O, 5S, Kaizen, meetings, training, etc.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Certified Industrial Electrician (442A), or equivalent Journeyman status with 2-5 years field experience in an industrial environment
  • Demonstrated Voltage experience (600 VAC), stamping presses and related machinery, robotic / teach pendants, CNC, PLC an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of programming Siemens PLC and Siemens PLC Drives
  • Must read and interpret blue prints, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
  • Achieves results / targets through others who are not direct reports
  • Effective interpersonal / communication skills required
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision fostering good team and inter-department relations

Working Conditions
  • Work may require extended periods of sitting, standing, lifting, bending, stooping, and performing repetitive motion tasks

  • Flex shift hours may be required to support role responsibilities over 3 shift operation
  • Office, manufacturing, outdoor environment
