Job Summary:
The student will assist with the organization of Nokee Kwe’s digital knowledge and information, and support staff with day-to-day tech needs. They will support the migration of data/resources to the cloud, help maintain IT systems across a variety of platforms, and support virtual service delivery. They will create, and co-facilitate client-based digital workshops, learn and adhere to privacy policies, and be able to discuss all Nokee Kwe’s programs and services in a competent manner. They will provide weekly reports.
This is a Canada Summer Jobs Funded Position for a period of 16-weeks @ 37.5 hours/week. Rate of pay is $14.25/hour.
Eligible Students must be:
(a) between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
(b) a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*; and
(c) legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial / territorial legislation and regulations.
*International students are not eligible. Recent immigrants are eligible if they are Canadian Citizens or permanent residents.

Essential Job Functions:
- Maintain IT systems across a variety of platforms (phone, computer, video equipment, etc.)
- Assist to set up podcasts, IRC television info casts
- Oversee IRC tech, set up virtual conferencing, assist with the creation of YouTube videos, support smart boards/training, video/cameras, and related tech
- Assist in staff/client use/training of these technologies
- Provide software support for all technologies such as cameras, video equipment, computers
- Assist with posting of YouTube videos and creating webinar platforms
- Utilize current IT resources to assist Nokee Kwe with their current marketing strategy
- Help to develop an efficient filing system to make updating and retrieving files easier, while following policies and confidentiality dictations to safeguard data and information
- Ensure the safe migration of this material to the cloud
- Convert non-digital forms/paperwork/documents into digital records
- Conduct file uploading – performing quality control to ensure documents are scanned correctly with clear images and entered into our digital system
- Ensure document security and confidentiality – follow best practices for document and file security for both paper and digital documents
- Ensure that documents are correctly sorted, scanned, and properly digitally filed and maintained with reference to our retention policy
- Organize and plan work
- Anticipate/identify problems and propose solution alternatives
- Communicate across programs/projects, providing information and preparing documents to be digitized
- Promptly act upon requests for information while demonstrating mutual respect
- Develop an organized digital filing system in conjunction with other staff
- Create, process, and maintain/update digital file/folder records.
- File and retrieve digital documents for Nokee Kwe personnel/BOD as directed.
- Create/establish a document-retention schedule for digital files
- Prepare records/digital files for archival or shredding/deletion
- Maintain/manage the organizational “shared drive” with respect to digital organization, filing, updating, and tracking the location of files.
- Review incoming paperwork/digital forms/documents for errors
- Develop a strategy to eliminate redundancy
- support all Nokee Kwe’s programs and services in a competent manner
