CNS - Epilepsy Program
The Epilepsy Program at the London Health Sciences Centre is a Level 4 Epilepsy Centre with an 11- bed inpatient unit, dedicated to the management of epilepsy. It is the largest of its kind in Canada, treating patients and training professionals from all over the world.
As a Clinical Neuropsychologist working within the Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences, you will provide consultation to the Epilepsy Program, working with a highly qualified team of professionals from neurology, neurosurgery, nursing, neuropsychology, clinical psychology, psychometry, social work, EEG technology, neuroradiology, and anaesthesiology, dedicated to the management of epilepsy, including epilepsy surgery.
Working closely with Neuropsychology colleagues, the Clinical Neuropsychologist will provide neuropsychological consultation and assessment services to adult and older adolescent patients, including diagnostic, pre-surgical and post-surgical neuropsychological evaluations for inpatients and outpatients, as well as participate in specialized procedures such as cortical mapping and intracarotid anaesthetic procedures.
The Psychologist would also be a resident supervisor in the London Clinical Psychology Residency Consortium in the Neuropsychology Track and practicum supervisor for university training program as appropriate. Neuropsychologists at LHSC typically hold appointments with Lawson Health Research Institute.
Regular Part-Time
Rate of Pay: $68.26 per hour - $85.34 per hour
Hours of Work: 22.5 hours per week
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Psychology
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the College of Psychologists of Ontario
- Recent, related experience
- Minimum of two (2) years' post-doctoral clinical experience, preferred
- Expertise with neuropsychological evaluation of adults; preference for experience with epilepsy population and related evaluation techniques (e.g., intracarotid anesthetic procedures, cortical mapping)
- Authorized (or eligibility to be authorized) to practice Clinical Neuropsychology
- Authorized (or eligibility to be authorized) to practice with adults
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the scientist-practitioner model of Psychology
- Demonstrated ability in working with interprofessional health care teams
- Demonstrated flexibility and a commitment to working within an academic environment
- Demonstrated advanced knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g., Mental Health Act, PHIPA, HCCA)
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's Vision, Purpose, and Values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
