Are you detail-oriented and experienced in payment processing? Join our team as a Temporary Payment Processing Representative for a 6–12 month contract, where you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and security of our financial transactions. Under the direction of the Supervising Accountant (or designate), you will be responsible for reconciling and processing a variety of payment types, ensuring daily balancing of accounts, investigating discrepancies, and maintaining secure handling of customer payments. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced, collaborative finance team while gaining valuable experience in a key operational role.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Reconcile and process cash, cheque, electronic, pre-authorized and Retailer payments on a daily basis.
- Communicate with financial institutions, payment processing contractor and internal departments regarding inquiries and issues related to payment remittance and payment processing.
- Confirm balanced receipts to payments and authorize deposit to corporate bank account.
- Confirm pre-authorized payments have been processed and balanced.
- Prepare weekly deposits for Brinks pick-up and delivery to corporate bank.
- Approve deposits processed through scanners.
- Update accounts in CIS with customer information including pre-authorized payment applications, postdated cheques on disconnect accounts, NSF cheques, pre-authorized returns and contact logs.
- Process, batch and deposit general ledger payments received from internal departments.
- Audit daily payments received from Collectors.
- Perform administrative tasks including, maintenance of equipment, and monitoring of office supplies.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- Must have accounting experience.
- Ability to take initiative, and work independently with minimal direction.
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
