We are hiring Summer Students in our Bathing Manufacturing and Maintenance Areas!

This position is located in our facility in St. Thomas, ON.

The Bathing Manufacturing/Maintenance Summer Student is responsible for performing duties as required in our Bathing and Maintenance Departments.  Safety in the workplace is essential to this role, while timely and accurate production of products will ensure high quality products for our customers.

Bathing Summer Student Primary Responsibilities:

• Forming Operator - Complete forming process and route operations of the forming machine including machine set-up, reheating of mold, loading of sheet and product positioning

• Glassing Prep Operator - Assist pre and post resin application to by loading and preparing the tub shells for resin application and completing inspections and demolding of shells to continue production

• Chopper Gun Operator - Ensure high quality resin application including rolling of resin post application and machinery maintenance

• Machine Operator - Manually trim shower bases and walls to specifications including sanding, drilling and leveling bases

• Woodshop Machine Operator - Prepare wood bases by cutting wood to desired specifications and assembling wood bases using hand tools.

• Assembler & Packer - Install all fittings for tubs and complete final water test. Clean product and perform final quality check to specifications prior to packing for shipment

Maintenance Summer Student Primary Responsibilities:

• Must wear  a bump cap

• Will be taping the areas off normally 40’ x 40’ per day under the roof with danger tape

• Supervise the area that is taped off to ensure no employees cross into the area

• Allow parts to be picked from the area from time to time when it is safe to do so

• Clean up the floor as debris does fall from the roof deck

• Work closely with maintenance during the process

Health & Safety

• Maintain a safe workplace

• Wear Personal Protective Equipment on the shop floor

• Follow the company policies, procedures, and OHSA (Occupational Health & Safety Act)

• Participation is required in our internal responsibility system (right to know, right to refuse, right to participate)

• Follow safe work and lockout / tagout procedures as the need arises

• Report unsafe conditions or hazards as soon as possible to your supervisor

• Maintain a clean working environment

• Adhere to and maintain WHMIS 2015 (GHS & 1988) requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

• You must be a current student, and be returning to school in September 2021

• Must be 18 years of age or older

• Ability to stand for long periods of time

• Bend and lift up to 40 pounds

• Comfortable working around forklift traffic

• Successful completion of all applicable pre-employment testing

• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

• Reliable transportation to and from work as public transportation is not available
