University Hospital (UH) Prescription Centre
LHSC's Prescription Centres provide specialized outpatient pharmacy services to the public, LHSC patients and staff. Our team supports a diverse range of patients, including those receiving care in mental health, women's health, renal, urology, transplant, neurology, pediatrics, and other specialized programs.
Working within a collaborative hospital environment, our pharmacy teams provide patient-focused care while managing complex medications, specialty therapies, and unique patient needs. We are committed to delivering safe, accessible, and compassionate pharmacy services while supporting the broader LHSC patient-care mission.
The Pharmacy Clerk is responsible for providing customer service, assisting with merchandising, assisting in the pharmacy dispensary, following loss prevention procedures and performing general, cross-functional and/or other duties as assigned. This position would cover both the Victoria Hospital and University Hospital sites as assigned.
Regular Part-Time
Hours of work: No guarantee of hours
Rate of pay: $26.01 per hour - $32.52 per hour
Qualifications
- Successful completion of a Grade 12 education or equivalent acceptable to the hospital
- Successful completion of one (1) year Pharmacy Assistant Certificate program is preferred
- One (1) to three (3) years recent, related experience
- One (1) year Pharmacy Assistant experience preferred
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient Microsoft Computer skills, e-mail, data entry/keyboarding
- Advanced attention to detail
- Demonstrated advanced ability to organize and prioritize work
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve
- Demonstrated proficient knowledge of LHSC policies, i.e. patient confidentiality and privacy legislation
- Demonstrated commitment to providing excellent customer service
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
- Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC's vision, purpose and values
- Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
