The Data Analyst extracts data from various clinical/financial systems, converts data into a user-friendly report format, and provides interpretation and analysis on the information, as value-add to clients. The Data Analyst strategizes and forecasts the departments? needs and puts together plans to ensure smooth program operation. Analysts may also submit mandatory data to various internal departments and external agency stakeholders, expertise in quality assurance is essential.

Rate of Pay: $32.33 per hour - $40.41 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Duration: until March 2027

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a College Diploma, Undergraduate Degree preferred in Health Information Management, Business, Computer Systems Technology, Statistics or acceptable by hospital
  • Certified Health Information Management preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of recent relevant experience required
  • Demonstrated advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI, including data analysis, data visualization, dashboard development, and report automation, preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in data collection and management
  • Detailed content knowledge and proficiency with associated provincial and/or national healthcare standards and best practices, metadata databases, and reporting systems
  • Time management and organizational skills
  • Analytical thinking
  • Ability to prepare and analyze complex reports; optimize existing technology to automate current manual reporting processes for improved efficiency and effectiveness; create complex queries to expose trends within specified indicators
  • Ability to understand and work with associated tools and applications

  • Ability to anticipate and respond to client needs in a timely and effective manner and keeps team members informed about issues
