The Quartermaster and Stationery Stores Coordinator is the primary contact and liaison person for London Police Service (LPS) members regarding uniform and equipment issuance and returns. This position enters, maintains, and tracks uniform and equipment inventory while also supporting stationery ordering, shipping/receiving, and printing services.

Temporary members receive ten percent (10%) of their hourly rate in lieu of benefits (after 120 calendar days) and are also eligible to join the OMERS Pension Plan upon their first day of hire.

The Quartermaster and Stationery Stores Coordinator is the primary contact and liaison person for London Police Service (LPS) members regarding uniform and equipment issuance and returns. This position enters, maintains, and tracks uniform and equipment inventory while also supporting stationery ordering, shipping/receiving, and printing services.
- Moderate degree of mental and sensory effort required for the preparation of written/electronic materials; proofreading written material for accuracy of both information and numerical data; use of computer software to view/manipulate information; and the design/format of documents.
- Moderate level of physical effort required on a regular basis for lifting, pulling, pushing of heavy or awkward objects.
- Work with tools or equipment requiring fine finger movement (e.g., stationary equipment).
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to members of the London Police Service (LPS) by telephone, email, and in-person in relation to requests for stationery, clothing/uniforms, footwear, body armor, and equipment.
- Outfit new and existing members with clothing/uniforms, footwear, body armor, and equipment.
- Track inventory issued and assigned to LPS members such as serial numbers, quantity, expiry dates, and sizes.
- Monitor inventory levels and participate in monthly cycle counts and annual inventory counts.
- Update and maintain accurate information in the inventory management system.
- Coordinate and provide services related to equipment exchange, returns and repairs, uniform tailoring, dry cleaning, alterations, preparing officer kits, and scheduling tunic fittings.
- Review and release stationery orders submitted by LPS members.
- Assist with incoming deliveries and shipments and notify recipients.
- Coordinate with external agencies the shredding and disposal of documents, uniforms, body armour, and equipment in accordance with procedure.
- Assist with purchasing, ordering, and receiving of product related to Quartermaster and Stationery Stores.
- Respond to stationery requisitions, business card requests, design pamphlets and brochures as requested, and provide printing services to the London Police Service.
- Operate various stationery equipment including folding/scoring/perforating machine, cutting machine, laminator, and binding/coiling machine.
- Other duties as assigned within the core competencies.
Requirements
- 2-year post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent.
- 6-12 months’ experience in office administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving skills, judgement, and analysis required for situations generally covered by procedures, standards or precedents.
- Effective communication skills for regular contact with LPS members and members of the public (e.g., suppliers) through phone and email to give, obtain, and/or exchange routine information or decisions requiring general discussion, and explanation to ensure understanding.
