Since 1949, TVCC has been working with children and youth to help them reach their full potential. Today, a wide range of services and supports are provided for young people with physical disabilities, communication disorders, developmental delays and autism spectrum disorders to support them in attaining the best available quality of life and health. In partnership with local and regional agencies, TVCC annually serves more than 9,000 children, youth and their families from birth to age 19 across Southwestern Ontario in over 700 locations.

We are recruiting for a temporary, full-time (35 hours per week), Office Support Clerk in the Executive Office and Human Resources. This 8 week position is expected to begin in July 2022 and end August 2022. The designated office for this position is London.

This position exists as a result of funding received through Employment and Social Development Canada’s Canada Summer Jobs program.  This program gives priority to organizations which provide opportunities to youth with disabilities and requires that applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.  We are interested in hearing from candidates with disabilities who have the ability to direct their own accommodation needs within a workplace setting.

Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Human Resources Manager, the Office Support Clerk will:
  • Provide administrative/clerical support to the Executive Office/Human Resource teams by organizing and maintaining confidential information, document preparation, website updates and expense reconciliations
  • Assist in the coordination of meetings by creating agendas and formatting supporting documentation and attend meetings to take minutes
  • Support the Human Resources team with recruiting and onboarding activities
  • Execute the transition of paper to electronic personnel files by scanning, saving and organizing confidential documents
  • Compile data and other information for reports
  • Collaborate with others to plan and organize projects and Centre events 
  • Other administrative activities as required

Qualifications:

  • Working towards a post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field (e.g. Human Resources or Office Administration) preferred;
  • A strong customer and family-centered care focus;
  • Highly developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills;
  • An ability to be flexible and dynamic and to prioritize and meet deadlines while balancing a number of tasks and being detail oriented;
  • Proficiency in minute taking is considered an asset;
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in the MS Office Suite 2010 package of programs, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint; 
  • Strong ability to work effectively in a team environment;
  • Proficiency in French would be considered an asset
