Human Resources Generalist

Salary: $70,000 to $80,000 / year

HCR Permanent Search is partnering with a large-scale manufacturing company that supplies the automotive industry by designing, engineering, and producing metal components and modular assemblies—supporting customers from prototype development through full-volume production while focusing on quality, efficiency, and responsiveness to changing market demands.

 

Human Resources Generalist

Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic and hands-o Human Resources Generalist to support the HR Director and oversee corporate HR operations. This role provides leadership to the HR team (HR Coordinator and Recruitment Specialist/Marketing) and ensures HR strategies align with business objectives while maintaining compliance with employment legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning
  • Provide direction to various HR team members
  • Oversee HRIS (Plex), attendance systems, and HR administration
  • Manage performance management programs and employee engagement initiatives
  • Counsel employees and leaders on HR policies and employment matters
  • Support workplace investigations and ensure legislative compliance (ESA, AODA, OHSA, WSIA, Human Rights Code, etc.)
  • Develop and analyze HR metrics to support decision-making
  • Lead HR projects and continuous process improvements
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and advise leadership on HR risks

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Human Resources or related field
  • CHRP designation (or working toward CHRP)
  • 3–5 years of progressive HR management experience in MANUFACTURING, preferably in automotive.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation
  • Experience with HRIS and ATS systems
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Working Conditions

  • Office-based role with occasional plant visits
  • CSA safety footwear and eyewear required when in production areas
