Finance-Accounting & Controlling Co-op
This co-op opportunity provides hands-on exposure to accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and finance process improvement within a global aerospace manufacturing environment. By leveraging digital tools and automation, you will help streamline financial processes, improve reporting accuracy, and contribute to ongoing finance transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
-Month-End Closing Support:
-Assist with the preparation and reconciliation of financial statements for the month-end closing process.
-Support the integration of digital tools in the closing process, ensuring the accuracy and automation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting.
-Help streamline manual tasks through digital solutions, reducing errors and improving closing cycle time.
-Contribute to ad-hoc accounting tasks and projects
Budgeting & Forecasting:
-Support the preparation and updating of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
-Assist in collecting and validating data for forecasting purposes.
-Help monitor actual performance against budget/forecast and provide variance analysis and support the implementation of corrective actions.
Digital Financial Reporting:
-Support the preparation of financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow)
-Support the automation and optimization of reporting dashboards, data visualizations, and key financial performance indicators (KPIs).
-Assist in providing insights into integrating data from various sources (ERP, Excel, external databases) into unified financial reports.
Automation & Process Improvement:
-Contribute to finance department efforts to digitize and automate routine accounting tasks
-Assist in Identifying opportunities for process optimization through automation, digital tools, and integration across the organization's financial systems.
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Education:
-Currently enrolled in or recent graduate of a degree program in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
-Strong academic performance, with a focus on financial accounting, management accounting, or financial analysis.
Skills:
-Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level) and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., M3, SAP, or similar).
-Experience with or interest in data management tools (SQL, Excel Query, Power BI or automation tools) is a plus.
-Knowledge of accounting principles and an interest in digital transformation within finance.
-Attention to detail, data accuracy, and the ability to work with complex datasets.
-Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
-Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment, collaborating with teams and stakeholders across the US, Mexico, Canada, the UK, and France, while navigating different time zones, cultures, and regulatory frameworks.

Preferred Experience:
- Prior internship or project experience in finance, accounting, or controlling, particularly in industrial or engineering sectors. Experience with digital tools such as financial software, automation platforms, or data analysis tools is a strong plus.
- Exposure to finance transformation projects, ERP implementations, or process automation is a bonus.

Duration & Compensation:
- Co-op duration: 6 to 12 months
- Full-time (40 hours/week)
Hours of work: Mon - Thurs 8:00am -4:30pm
Friday: 8:00am-2:00pm
This position involves working with controlled goods and is subject to Canada's Controlled Goods Program (CGP) regulations. Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain the required CGP registration/security assessment.
