Job Description
Our client a leader in mining and automotive casting manufacture is looking to add a Project Manager- Machine Shop.
Reporting to the Machine Shop Manager, you will quote jobs, program CNC machines using MasterCAM and managing projects keeping continuous improvement in mind.
What we offer:
- $80,000.00 - $92,000.00 a year depending on experience.

- 3 weeks’ vacation to start.
- Shift: Days – Monday to Friday
- Role is 50% in office and 50% on the floor, however no physical labour requirements.

What you are doing:
- CNC Programing using Master CAM experience to develop sound CNC programs based on priority schedules which will be communicated on a weekly/daily basis.
- Quoting in collaboration with team to gather information needed to secure new contracts. Finding outside pricing and develop relationships with vendors to negotiate favorable terms.
- Create tool list and develop internal tooling attendant to create CNC program ahead of the jobs to expedite machining on the shop floor.
- Identify process/tooling improvement opportunities to align with our continuous improvement initiatives will be a requirement in this section of the position.
- Project managing will require you to work together with multiple internal/external customers to see a project through from when the part/casting arrives to or when it leaves the dock and ships to customer.
- Professionally communicate with internal/external customers to provide updates, answer any questions and to be part of solutions for any issues that do arise during machining.
- Working with machine operators communicate necessary information with safely and efficiently in mind.
- Development of set-up sheets and creation of job folders with all required identification.
Who you are:
- Diploma in related field (manufacturing / machining) or equivalent
- Knowledge of CNC Machining of different types of metals
- Prior CNC Programming Experience with fluent knowledge of Mastercam (preferred)
- Prior experience setting/running CNC machines (2-3 years)
- Knowledge in fluently reading and interpreting Machine part drawings and CNC programs.
- Strong Attention to detail
