Job Title: IT Technician
Status: Full-Time, Permanent

Position Summary
Under the supervision of the IT Manager, the IT Technician is responsible for providing technical support services across the organization. The incumbent will assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network systems while ensuring that staff receive timely and effective IT support. This role requires strong communication skills, technical expertise, and a customer service-focused approach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide first-level IT help desk support in person, by telephone, email, chat, or remote connection.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and related equipment.
  • Support equipment rollouts, upgrades, and maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Conduct routine maintenance of IT hardware (e.g., cleaning and servicing printers and peripherals).
  • Provide staff with training, guidance, and support for hardware, software, and applications.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date inventory of IT assets.
  • Monitor and report on IT trends, recurring issues, and recommend process or system improvements.
  • Stay current with relevant technologies, software, and professional development opportunities.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training, and organizational initiatives as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in IT operations, LAN support, or help desk services.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, MS Word, Excel, and database applications.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Customer service orientation with the ability to build effective working relationships.
