GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated leadership and strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners
- Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies
- A strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
- Knowledge of curriculum design and student assessment are assets
- Post-secondary 2 year diploma in a related field
- Minimum 5 years of current and relevant industrial work experience
- Background in industrial automation systems, electrical control using relays, motor controls, sensors, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Working knowledge of electrical ladder diagrams, pneumatic systems, hydraulic diagrams, control devices and industry standards
- Working knowledge of programmable logic controller (PLC) programming, and standard techniques used to interface PLCs to manufacturing automation systems
- Interpret and modify electrical and fluid power drawings including other related documents and graphics
- Analyze and solve routine technical problems related to electrical and fluid systems
- Assemble, test, modify and maintain electrical and fluid systems and equipment
- Program a PLC using basic instructions, timers and counters (knowledge of both Siemens and AB)
- Install, test, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and electro-mechanical switching circuits
- Apply health and safety standards and best practices related to electrical and fluid controls in the workplace
