Purpose of Position
This position is for an experienced junior or intermediate level controls technologist who performs a variety of complex engineering tasks in support of Technology Development – PLC Controls initiatives.

This position is for an experienced junior or intermediate level controls technologist who performs a variety of complex engineering tasks in support of Technology Development – PLC Controls initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Candidate will be involved in all stages of PLC development lifecycle – inception, requirements, design, implementation, testing, documentation, delivery, improvement and support of software
- Support and troubleshoot vendor hardware and firmware issues as required
- Write engineering specifications, test protocols and test PLC systems for products
- Act as a technical resource to other departments
- Contribute to continuous improvement
- Meet timelines for projects or tasks assigned
- Research, experiment, test and source new technologies
- Team player able to work with a globally diverse development team
- Occasional international travel may be required
- Creativity, problem solving and attention to detail
- Experience in PLC programming – prefer minimum 3-5 years’ experience developing complex customer or product logic solutions
- Rockwell RSLogix 5000 and FactoryTalk required
- Siemens TIA Portal and/or Step 7 and WinCC Flexible experience preferred
- Schneider/GE or other PLC additional experience an asset
- Experience with industrial network protocols and embedded systems an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly
- Interested in working as part of a team to develop innovative new controls solutions
