Sessional Faculty – Tool and Die Apprentice Program (STE 201600000)
St. Thomas/Elgin Regional Campus
 
Location:  St. Thomas
Employment Group:  Faculty
Hours of Work per Week:   Up to 24 hours per week – Primarily evening hours until 10:00 p.m.      
Closing Date:  May 15, 2016
 
Duties:   A Sessional Faculty at Fanshawe College is responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective learning environment for students.  The successful candidate will teach courses in the Tool and Die Apprentice Program at the St. Thomas/Elgin Regional Campus. This position will end March 31, 2017.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success
  • Excellent communicator
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners
  • Strong technical computer skills and a familiarity with educational technologies are required
  • Experience with hybrid and online teaching preferred
  • Related industry work experience 
SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Post-secondary 2 year diploma in Tool and Die and/or General Machining
  • Certification - Journeyperson Tool and Die Maker
  • Minimum 5 years recent experience
  • Previous teaching and or training experience
