Job Purpose:

The Industrial Engineering Specialist will be responsible for improving manufacturing systems, processes and procedures through lean manufacturing techniques and processes. Find ways to eliminate wastefulness in production, current and new. Specifically, the Industrial Engineering Specialist's duties devise efficient systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, information and key personnel that contribute to the quality and improvement of the manufactured product.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Creation of Work Instructions, cell layouts and operator flow
• Completion of run @ rates and customer workbooks
• Plant layouts using AutoCad
• Ensuring that all assembly processes operate within lean manufacturing principles (Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kanban, and Poka-Yoke)
• Expertise in job design including safety and ergonomics requirements
• Manufacturing process improvements to existing process including a cost benefit analysis to allow senior evaluation and approval 
• Conduct work flow analysis, time studies and make recommendations for improvement in material handling and plant layout
• Input on new manufacturing tooling and assembly equipment
• Certificate in MOST work measurement system an asset
• Monitor of PLEX for press and assembly capacities controlled by the plants
• Follow Marwood Operating Standards (MOS), etc. as related to manufacturing process and improvements
• All other relevant duties

Requirements:

• Engineering degree or College diploma in appropriate field
• Minimum 2-5 years' experience as a Tier 1 and or 2 automotive industrial/manufacturing engineer in a high volume manufacturing environment
• Expertise in job design including safety and ergonomics requirements
• Knowledge of the requirements of TS16949
• Knowledge and execution experience of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, and Process Flow
• Demonstrated organizational skills with strong oral and written communication abilities
• Strong leadership abilities, able to lead effective meetings
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated diplomacy and professionalism
• Strong computer knowledge (Plex, Excel, Visio, and Industrial Engineering software)
