COVID-19 PROTOCOL COACH

Fulltime permanent position
Talbotville, Ontario (Rural location)

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Covid-19 Protocol Coach will ensure that company policies related to Covid-19 are followed by all employees and others on-site at OPPL. This role will work with Operations and HR to monitor compliance and recommend the creation of or modifications to any policies that may be required to limit exposure to and transmission of Covid-19 amongst staff or visitors. For the right individual(s), this role has the potential to evolve post-Covid-19 pandemic into a position responsible for general hygiene programs at the facility and lead Good Manufacturing / Good Agricultural Practices programs for the company. 
 
Job Description/Responsibilities
  • Visit all areas of the site daily and observe employee behaviors, work stations, layouts, and work processes.
  • Identify non-compliance and bring to the attention of workers and/or supervisors where required.
  • Encourage and reinforce adherence to Covid-19 policies.
  • Following OPPL policies, screen individuals entering the OPPL site for symptoms/illness.
  • Segregate individuals identified with symptoms and arrange for them to leave the site.
  • Conduct follow up assessments if an individual is unsure of their symptoms.
  • Train all new employees on OPPL’s Covid-19 policies.
  • Update training with existing employees when required (policy changes or lack of knowledge of existing policies apparent).
  • Identify, analyze, and recommend improvements to existing policies or the creation of new policies in order to make processes more efficient, easier to comply, or lower costs.
  • Other duties as assigned. 
 
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or college diploma in a related field, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
  • Previous work experience in a farm or industrial environment an asset.
  • Fluent in both English and Spanish. 

Physical Location/Working Conditions
  • Exposure to outdoors, inside greenhouse and office environments. Outdoors and greenhouse may be seasonally hot.
  • This position will require the flexibility of working hours. Need to be willing to work 12-hour shifts starting at 5am and work weekends. Work weeks may require a cycle of 4 days on/3 days off.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Lifting or moving up to 30lbs may be required.
