Electrical Engineer / Electrical Designer

On behalf of our consulting client in the London area, we are recruiting for a qualified Professional Engineer for Ontario (or Engineer in Training) to assist the Electrical Design Department. The successful candidate would be responsible for electrical design of buildings in the residential, commercial, and institutional sectors.

As an Electrical Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Manage and lead electrical design projects, direct and mentor the design team
• All aspects of design and analyses including system selection, life cycle cost calculations, and implementation of building systems
• Produce electrical tender documents including specifications and drawings using AutoCAD
• Design power distribution and generation systems, communication systems, lighting layouts, and fire alarm systems for different types of residential and commercial buildings
• Work on various small, medium, and large projects including fit ups and new construction
• Produce technical construction documents including concept designs, reports, project cost estimates, change orders, field investigation reports and instructions
• Attend meeting with clients, project managers, other consultants, suppliers and contractors for ongoing project communication and to ensure design integrity
• Developed working relations with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers

• Project examples of Canadian Projects that utilized the Ontario Building Code
• Minimum 3 Years of Experience with Electrical Design of Buildings
• Extensive Experience working with AutoCAD mainly and Revit would be an asset
• Registered with the Ontario Professional Engineers of Ontario as a P.Eng or EIT
