Job Description
Purpose of Position:
Key member of our engineering prototyping team in support of product engineering development and research initiatives related to water treatment products.

Key member of our engineering prototyping team in support of product engineering development and research initiatives related to water treatment products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and design of product concepts and test fixtures from sketches, drawings, detailed specifications and verbal instructions
- Carry out assignments of substantial variety and/or complexity requiring a sound understanding of related engineering or scientific theory, principles and practices.
- Build prototype assembles
- Support component and system level testing
- Must be able to perform work with minimum supervision and exercise individual initiative and judgement
- Install, troubleshoot and repair equipment and components
- Operates machines such as lathes, milling machine, drill press, band saw, grinders, MIG/TIG welder and plasma cutter
- Participate in design reviews to offer data and recommendations from tests performed
- Provide technical guidance to other engineering associates in area of expertise
- Work as part of an integrated development team
- Follow Trojan Technologies processes and contributes to a continuous improvement philosophy.
- Some local and potentially international travel will be required to setup pilot units
- Assist in maintaining a safe, clean and organized work environment
- Graduate in engineering/applied science technology, or has equivalent experience and skills
- 5+ years relevant experience
- Proficient with the operation of milling machine, lathe, drill press, welding and general hand tools
- Ability to work both independently and as a productive member of a team
- Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.
- Experience in operation of forklifts, overhead/mobile cranes and rigging
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong analytical and hand-on skills
- Electrical, hydraulic and PLC experience considered a strong asset
- Computer skills with strong demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office products
- Proficient with mechanical design software SolidWorks and 3DCad
- Proficient with use of measuring tools
