The Nitty Gritty:

We are searching for a Game Design Director for our London, ON or Toronto, ON studio to drive excellence across our company. You will work alongside our Head of Production to always improve the quality and efficiency of our Creative capabilities, as well as serve as a mentor, leader and go-to expert for our team of Game Designers. You have a proven track record of success and a portfolio of high-quality winning titles to your credit, in addition, you thrive in team settings are a natural and confident leader. You will work actively with all games that are produced to ensure that all standards are met and exceeded.

The Duties:

• Responsible for Design Leadership across the studios (both London, and Toronto), you will certify that the best fit and style is being chosen for all of our titles to ensure the best player experience. 
• You are able to bring forth your experience and knowledge to help drive initial decisions for design, as well as offer insights and solutions to guarantee the best product possible.
• As coach to our team of Game Designers, you will ensure that their work is the best fit for the particular goals and user experience targets that have been set.
• Regular analysis of live data and player feedback to continually improve on and optimize the game experience.
• A quarterback of communication, you will promote cross-studio collaboration with developers, artists and data teams in order to iterate and tune designs.
• With eyes always on the horizon, as Game Design Director you will have a large role in the hiring process for future Game Designers as well as reporting detailed hiring needs to our recruiters.

The Essentials:

• 7+ years of game design experience including several shipped titles, with a strong preference for those that you have been involved with from concept to delivery
• 3+ years of experience designing free-to-play mobile/social games
• You are a highly skilled communicator who can explain concepts and specs to teams
• Highly efficient documentation skills
• Solid understanding of statistics, probability and risk
• A strong knowledge of and interest in the gaming industry, along with current trends and evolving player expectations. 
• Programming and/or art experience will be considered a strong asset but not required
