Job Description
Purpose of Position:
Intermediate level technologist who performs a variety of moderately complex technical tasks with relative independence under general supervision of an engineer or more senior technologist.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement innovative, cost effective design solutions for water treatment systems
- Some design areas include: control/power panels, cabling and instrumentation
- Create electrical schematics and P&ID drawings in AutoCAD or equivalent software tools
- Working knowledge of UL, CE and IEC standards
- Carry out mostly routine assignments with a wide variety and/or moderate complexity requiring an understanding of related engineering or scientific theory, principles and practices
- May provide technical support for Sales and review of project specifications
- Follow Trojan Technologies processes and provide suggestions and support for process improvement
Background and Skill:
- Post-secondary education in Electrical Engineering Technology with related field experience
- 2-4 years relevant work experience
- Familiarity with UV disinfection an asset
- Experience in control/power panel design an asset
- Basic understanding of communication networks and PLC programming concepts an asset
- Ability to work both independently and as a productive member of a team
- Proven working knowledge and experience of electrical design
- Proficient in using AutoCAD 2014 or higher software and strong computer skills
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- Excellent documentation skills – ability to maintain a clear design file
- Able to use initiative and good judgment in the application of standard procedures
- Willing to travel (if required)
- Sound knowledge of electrical safety and good safety record required
