Our London, ON client is recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Manager.  A summary of responsibilities is listed below:

Responsibilities:

• Manage a talented engineering group of various experience levels and disciplines.
• Work with stakeholders (engineers, business development, QA, Prototyping) to lead delivery of major projects.
• Actively identify bottlenecks and ways to improve engineering productivity.
• Understand, develop and collaborate on complete product lifecycle from concept to execution.
• Develop and update systems and procedures to track and ensure engineering standards are met and maintained.
• Work with finance and senior management to maintain and optimize budgets to meet goals.
• Can execute, taking an idea from the Business Development team and making it a reality.
• Engage in all aspects of talent development (recruiting, mentorship, career development, progression and succession planning, etc.).
• Exemplify corporate values and drive a culture of accountability, innovation, and change.
• Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection.
• Must action multiple projects in a complex technical environment.
• Develops and applies advanced engineering concepts and approaches to unique engineering problems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
• 5 + years engineering experience in a highly engineered prototype and product manufacturing environment
• 3 + years’ experience managing a team (management of Engineers is an asset)
• Strong understanding of systems development
• Ability to work and adapt in a fast paced multi-tasked environment
• Ability to be flexible in hours of work in order to meet internal/external customer requirements including overtime
• Competent in the use of computer-assisted engineering software (preferred Solidworks experience) to perform engineering tasks.
